Dr. Heigle has this site posted on his blog, but I looked at it and really enjoyed it so I figured talking about it again would emphasize the solid applications that it provides. Icue stands for "Immerse, Connect, Understand, and Excel". The site is run by NBC News. They do a great job of using video and current event situations to discuss how they apply to many courses. They list US History, Government, English, and Environmental Science as the main courses. However, in going through the search you can find video and activities of all types. They currently only have 3 math links, but I am hopeful that this will increase. Also two of the videos go together so students can watch a video and then complete an activity based on that video. Hopefully, you all can find ways to use this site. They also have games within those indvidual courses.

This website would be really useful in my classroom when giving students background information about a historical novel or reading selection. Students always enjoy videos and it would give students a visual to help supplement the verbal information and the details in the text they will be reading.
